In 1999, I got my first freelance assignment to write copy for racial sensitivity training. I was studying Archaeology at the University of Maryland at College Park at the time, and soon picked up regular work writing for antique furniture dealers in the DC area. I quickly learned what works in print and what doesn’t.
I later put myself through grad school by writing everything from web copy to press releases to business plans. After graduating, I went on to clerk for a Judge in the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, where I spent thousands of hours perfecting the art of the legal memo.
I amped up my writing business in August 2008, upon moving to Alaska. I focus on legal writing for select attorneys, but have also written scripts, magazine articles, sales copy, and grant proposals. My Golden Lab and I recently escaped the bitter cold of Interior Alaska in favor of the sunny and open Taos, New Mexico.
I am always looking for new and interesting writing assignments, so feel free to shoot me an email at writingkimberly at gmail.com or to call 575 613 6318.
Write on… Kimberly.
